Jean-Louis Roubira (Dixit designer) and Régis Bonnessée (managing director of Libellud) took to the airwaves on RTL, France's leading radio station, to talk about how they worked together to develop Dixit. During the ten-minute broadcast, the pair discuss the game's origins as well as their current projects. The interview also covers the therapeutic applications of games, as Jean-Louis works as a child psychiatrist in Poitiers in addition to designing board games. In this capacity, he has had extensive opportunities to test how games can be used as therapeutic tools for troubled youngsters, and he describes his experiences in the programme.

We are very grateful to RTL for providing a platform for us to talk about our hobby and motivations. We hope visitors to our website will enjoy listening to the interview.

Libellud and Asmodee have signed a partnership agreement
Libellud will thus be able to refocus on game creation by becoming a development studio of which Asmodee will be the exclusive distributor for all future projects.

The small publisher will of course retain full editorial control and will thus be able to concentrate entirely on what it does best: invent games based upon the imagination. Asmodee will look after all aspects of production and marketing of Libellud's future creations on a global scale thanks to its international network. It is a partnership that will benefit all concerned, following the example that Asmodee already has with Swiss publisher GameWorks.

Libellud's Régis Bonnessé said: "I am overjoyed with this connection, in which I see the best opportunity for me to team up with professionals who have unique experience when it comes to board games. This will enable Libellud to build a global publishing and distribution strategy that nobody else in the marketplace could have offered. Our creations will also benefit from Asmodee's specialist manufacturing knowledge. I will be able to concentrate on one thing and one thing only: creating games!"

Pierre Gaubil, MD of Asmodee, added: "To be able to give talented people like Jean-Louis Roubira the means to further express their creativity by supporting the production and marketing of their games is another way to help the creation of great games. Especially so when it comes to games where you use imagination, of which Régis Bonnessé with Dixit, is one of the standard bearers. Also, it gives these games a real chance to be appreciated on a global level. The category of games based upon the imagination was up until now a very small part of Asmodee, but will surely become a much more important line in years to come."

The partnership agreement should begin with the launch of a game based around fairy tales. It should be a case of happily ever after.
